Reki is the character played by Satoshi Fujio in 'The World', an immensely popular MMORPG from the year 2010. He is a Wavemaster--the mage class from 'The World', a System Operator (a lesser admin) for CC Corporation, the company who runs the game, and a subordinate to Balmung of the Azure Sky, a System Administrator and a legendary player from 'The World'.
Satoshi, Reki's player, is in his early twenties. He graduated from college with a major in History, which is his passion and major interest. Following graduation, he managed to get a job at CC Corp, where he was assigned to Balmung as an Operator. Initially put off by his boss's quirky personality and intense passion for 'The World', Satoshi considered quitting right away. A few years later, he has yet to do so, saying he "can't imagine working for anyone else."
Dealing with Balmung on a day to day basis, Reki is fairly unflappable, although he does freak out from time to time (usually when one of Balmung's stunts totally screws up his carefully laid plans). Although he is merely an Operator, in actuality he gets stuck with most of his boss's work, typing up report drafts, keeping things on schedule, setting up and coding for events, and essentially acting as Balmung's "keeper". Very grounded in reality, Reki still sees 'The World' in terms of pixels and data, but Balmung is starting to open his eyes. When push comes to shove, Reki stands behind his boss all the way, even at risk to his own job.
Responsible and loyal (with a rather dry sense of humor), Reki mostly works in the background. His boss is constantly making waves, especially with CC Corp's top brass, which makes it very easy for Reki to do what needs to be done and move about unnoticed. He's quite good with computers, and often wishes he could follow his dreams, as Balmung did.
Although, one must ask, where would the Azure Knight be without his squire? :) (Probably still buried under last months reports!)
Taken from the real world, Satoshi (Reki) finds himself in the Digital World without warning, clad in his Wavemaster garb. Working under his alias 'Reki', he tries to make sense of this strange world.
